Recently I removed a closet and opened up the area under my stairwell.  This is in part because Tonylewis, our cat, had mistaken the closet for a litter box, and partly because I think the house was open this way originally.  As you can see there is lovely white-painted wood paneling that was in the closet and a light switch that was at the back of the closet - not things normally found in a closet.
As you can also see, I tried two different things - a mirror and a painting of delphiniums.  I think the painting is more unusual and colorful, but traditionally a mirror is used in entry areas such as this.  I do have mirrors at the other wall so I do not need one here - but which do you like best?  Leave me a comment!
